Get to Know Me

When I was born, my parents gave me a name, Zhang Jiayi. After transferring to an international school, I named myself Josven Zhang.  I'm a 14-year-old who's fascinated by the world of ideas and creativity.I am a logical thinker. My mind thrives on solving complex problems and unlocking secrets through analytical reasoning. Whether it's solving a math problem, cracking a real-life escape room puzzle, or deciphering an ancient riddle, I find joy in the challenge and satisfaction in the solution. I am also an artistic thinker. I express myself from the bold strokes of oil painting to the quick, fluid lines of sketching.

My passion for creating art began the moment I could hold a brush. My sketchbook is a window to my world, filled with sketches of people I have met, and illustrations inspired by mythology, historical figures, and creatures born from my imagination. My journey as a thinker has been greatly influenced by my experiences with yoga, which taught me the art of balancing my mind and body. Yoga has given me the tools to maintain a calm, centered, and open mind, ready to absorb and analyze the world around me.

My hometown is in Jilin Province, China, which is like Maine in the United States. Although it is very cold outdoors in winter, the people in my hometown are very kind, enthusiastic, and hardworking. My current school, Changchun American International School, is the only school in Jilin Province that offers IB courses. I really like my school, where I study with teachers and classmates from over 30 countries around the world, as well as people of different races from different countries. It makes my world so vast, rich, and colorful. Recently, I have been discussing the topic of racial discrimination with my teacher. I am working on creating a mini program to share my views on racial discrimination and collect everyone's opinions. If you are emotional, welcome to participate!
